Meeting Announcement & Appeal for Journal Articles

Wow! This summer is sure flying by fast. June and July programs were presented on DNA and Immigration, and coming up on the 25th of this month we will have our own Scotland Ambassador flying in to join us for a special Saturday "pot-luck" dinner and meeting. Carol Dew is currently living in Scotland and is a Little River County native. She is one of our most enthusiatic researchers and we are excited to have her attend. Carol's father will also be in attendance and will be talking about growing up in Winthrop Arkansas.
Everyone please make plans to join us. The meeting is August 25, 12 noon at Cossatot University in Ashdown. Guests are welcome, so feel free to stop in and meet everyone.

The end of the year is fast approaching. I have begun the fall journal and am sending an appeal to all Little River County researchers for articles to be included in this issue. Family stories, histories, photographs, etc., are all welcome and appreciated. The spotlight for this issue will be Pine Prairie, so if any of you have information about this historical community, please send it to me before the November 1st deadline.

The LRCGS web site is going to be under construction for the next few weeks as I update files and add new ones. If you happen to get an error message or "page not found", don't be alarmed. I should be finished within a week or two, and I promise to work as quickly as possible. On that note, those of you who have visited our site and have benefited from any of the information there, or didn't find what you were looking for....SEND US AN E!! Our mission is to provide free resource material on our county and surrounding areas and we would love to know what you think of our site. If you have a lookup request, there are several members who do this free of charge, except for copies, so send in your requests. If we can't help, we can at least point you in the right direction.

Happy Hunting!
